About Alias Theatre

Our Aim

Alias Theatre is committed to producing high quality imaginative theatre arts projects that allows both young and professional performers and arts practitioners to challenge their skills and learn the processes involved in creating powerful theatre.

Commissioned Projects
Alias Theatre has been involved in many commissioned theatre arts projects, including issue-based plays highlighting teenage domestic abuse, eating disorders and knife crime, in addition to participatory projects such as our Boys Only Arts Project and our Theatre Amongst the Trees Holiday Projects.

Tours & Workshops

Alias Theatre also provides tours and workshops for schools and youth groups, linking our Theatre In Education work to PSCHE, Drama and English curriculum units. Projects can also be tailor-made to suit individual group needs.

Youth Theatre

In addition, Alias Theatre has run its own youth and children's theatre programmes in the Bedford area, providing theatre training and original performance work. Performances have included award-winning dance/drama pieces in partnership with local schools for Rock Challenge UK.

Arts Award Qualifications

Part of Alias Theatre's applied theatre provision also includes being a qualified Arts Award Centre at Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels and to date, we have a 100% pass rate.  Arts Awards are recognised arts qualifications.  For more information on Arts Award visit their website: www.artsaward.org.uk

Professional Mentoring Programmes

Professional mentoring is also a key element of Alias Theatre's work and Artistic Director, Trudy A Bell, continues to be an Associate Lecturer teaching Professional Theatre Practice at university level and provides work experience and mentoring schemes for young arts professionals who wish to develop their applied theatre skills with the company.
