We always have a busy programme of projects and performances

ROCK CHALLENGE UK
Global Rock Challenge is an international dance/drama competition for schools. The competition is run by the Be Your Best Foundation who support anti-drug and alcohol awareness and encourage young people to engage in the arts to obtain a natural high.
Since 2007, Artistic Director - Trudy A Bell - has been linked to Alameda Middle School in Ampthill, Bedfordshire as both a teacher and theatre director, and this creative partnership has led to students at Alameda being the most successful Rock Challenge entrant in Bedfordshire.
LOWRY
Lowry is a real favourite with cast and audience alike. Using music, choreography and projections, Lowry presents the life and art of beloved artist L.S. Lowry. At times it is comical, at times heartbreaking, but always hypnotic.
Lowry was performed at Leighton Buzzard Theatre in 2007 and later revived in 2009 for a one-off performance in Bedford.
ONCE UPON A NIGHTMARE
Once Upon A Nightmare was the debut script and dance performance for a younger junior Alias group aged 9-11. The play tells the tale of one girl who, having argued with her parents, has a dream that the toys in her bedroom come alive and she awakes to find them playing. All is good until the clowns arrive and the dream turns into a nightmare!
Once Upon A Nightmare was performed at Leighton Buzzard Theatre
in 2009.
THE BUTTERFLY LOVERS
The junior group continued its success in 2010 with a dance/drama retelling of the ancient chinese tale of two tragic lovers who sacrifice themselves for their love; reuniting as butterflies after their deaths. The performance also included dancers from the University of Bedfordshire who worked with Alias Theatre as part of our Mentoring Programme.
THE BRIGHT PEARL
The Bright Pearl tells the chinese legend of the Jade Dragon and Golden Phoenix and how their love for a beautifully-crafted pearl leads to the creation of mountains and lakes in China. It is a poignant tale of loyalty, love and greed; building on choreography skills to include balances, lifts and group shapes in the performance.
The Bright Pearl was performed at Harlington Theatre in 2011.
THE FOUNTAIN OF FAIR FORTUNE
2011 saw a new Alias Theatre group begin for children aged 6-10. Their debut performance was a new adaptation of J.K. Rowling's The Fountain of Fair Fortune taken from her children's book The Tales of Beedle the Bard. The performance was filled with witches, menacing worms, singing flowers, shining suns and the fountain itself. This is a truly magical tale for young and old, and was a very special performance at Harlington Theatre.
